MASONIC LODGE OF PENDLETON, OREGON
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Pendleton Masonic Lodge is active in a wide variety of community activities
and charities in Umatilla County and beyond. Some of these community
oriented activities are as follows:
- The Paul Gorham Memorial Scholarship: This
scholarship was created in honor of Umatilla County educator and
Mason, Paul Gorham. These scholarships are awarded every year
(one for a male student and one for a female student). Any student
graduating with a diploma from Helix, Pilot Rock, Pendleton, or
Nixyaawii high schools may apply. For more information, click
here.
- Oregon Scottish Rite Clinics: The Oregon Scottish
Rite Clinics provide intensive, individualized speech language
therapy exclusively for preschool children. Please explore our
website: http://www.scottishritekids.com.
The term "Scottish Rite" is short for "Scottish Rite Masons", which is an appendant body of Freemasonry.
- Shriners Hospitals for Children: The Shriners
Hospitals for Children provide free world-class healthcare for
children under 18 years of age. The Shrine Club was founded by
and exclusively consists of Freemasons.
- Masonic Child ID Program: The MYCHIP (Masonic
Youth Child Identification Program) has identified more than 250,000
children since its inception in 1988, and it continues to assist
families today. The program provides tools to help law enforcement
authorities find and identify a lost or missing child. Pendleton
Masonic Lodge will be hosting a Child ID Program booth at the
Pendleton Farmer's Market in 2008 where we will be providing this
service free of charge to all members of the public.
